Design is a solution

Website design takes time. The fastest and easiest way to create a design is to use tables, and you're done.

The problem with this approach is short term gain (fast) at the expense of the future. Table based designs are unsustainable, unmanageable, difficult to change, very search engine unfriendly, slower to load, and simply inappropriate. Tables are appropriate for serving up tabular information such as scientific data, accounting, and baseball statistics.

The best practice yields the best results. A web standards design is easy to manage, easy to change, loads fast, is search engine friendly and is future-proof.
