MODx, FoxyCart, Socrates and Evolution

Did you ever read Socrates/Plato stuff in college or high school? Socrates was regarded as the smartest guy that ever lived. Yet right up in the foothills of Boulder lives Ken Wilbur whom many regard as being smarter than Socrates. Imagine that.

He has the best definition for evolution that I’ve ever heard: in order for something to evolve it must both transcend and include.

To move things forward, you have to learn and incorporate that knowledge. You can’t just deny it; you have to include it in order to take it to the next level. When we create, we don’t create new things. We use things that already exist and combine them in new ways, or ways that they have not been combined before. Take my blueberry-habanero-duck sausage pizza for example. Just imagine what it tastes like - and it tastes better than you might imagine.

That brings me to MODx+FoxyCart. Both are evolved expressions of php+mysql which all modern CMS are based on. Once you go Foxycart you will never go back to another eCommerce app. And once you learn how MODx works and the powerful flexibility it afford you, you might think as I do: the other CMS's architecture won't evolve any further.

Web Standards Matter

They take more time to create and age better than wine. By creating sites to web standards one future proofs their website and makes it perform very high in search engine rankings, organically. This extra effort yields a high return on your investment.
